Nerijus Bertalis · Platform & Data Engineer
I help teams turn scattered data into a platform they trust.
Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Azure: reliable pipelines, governed access and monitoring, built so that people actually use them.
What I do
Reporting people trust
Move reporting off legacy tools and scattered sources onto one platform, with one agreed definition for every number.
Microsoft Fabric · Databricks · Power BI
A platform that runs quietly
Failures caught before users notice them, routine work automated, and cloud costs that stay predictable.
Monitoring · CI/CD · capacity planning
Ask your data in plain language
Text-to-SQL and data agents on governed data, set up so that every answer can be checked.

Featured projects
2025
Legacy reporting moved to Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
Replaced an old Cubeware system for an isolutions client: lower running costs, and reporting options the old system could not offer.
2025
Connecting legacy systems to the Power Platform
For a client, Fabric receives, cleans and transforms data from old interfaces and delivers it to Dataverse, so the systems never talk to each other directly.
2024
Asking company data questions in plain language
Master’s thesis at Volkswagen / CARIAD: a central Databricks platform where people query data in natural language instead of writing SQL.

About
I am a data and platform engineer in Bern. I build the whole platform, from ingestion to the dashboards people use every day. With a background in psychology and human factors, I start from how people will use the data.
