Connecting legacy systems to the Power Platform

For a client, Fabric receives, cleans and transforms data from old interfaces and delivers it to Dataverse, so the systems never talk to each other directly.

The problem

The client had older, legacy interfaces that the Power Platform could not talk to directly. The data from those systems had to be cleaned up and brought into Dataverse, where the Power Platform applications use it.

My part

Microsoft Fabric became the middle point between the old interfaces and the Power Platform. The flow:

Legacy interfaces deliver their data to Fabric.
Fabric stages and transforms it.
The prepared data is loaded into Dataverse for the Power Platform.

I built this integration layer in Fabric, so the legacy systems and Dataverse never have to talk to each other directly.

Result

Fabric now acts as the single point where legacy data is received, staged, transformed and handed over to Dataverse.
